I did this idea for my final project in digital technology class because it really shows how someone can be so busy with life sometimes that you forget to stop and appreciate your loved ones and we always say wow you grow up so fast because we have so many things going one, we forget to stop and remember people are important in life. This idea is very important to me because I have had so much going on through high school and part of college, I looked at my life last week and really thought wow my sister is older, and my parents are getting older and my grandparents do not have much longer either so doing this comic was good for me to realize that these things happen to everyone and is happening to me right now. I made the mom butterfly super detailed and then the little kid butterflies not that detailed because I wanted it to show that the mom is so busy on other things, she only just hears their voice and not really what there doing at all. I also tried to put like black lines to insure the people reading the comic that the butterfly is flying fats like all of us just flying through life and passing by so many things. I also added birds to try adding that fast moving effect. The thing I like doing in Illustrator was making the text boxes and to make the zing zag of them and using the different tools like the pathfinder tool which led me to the untie tool so I could bring together to text box. I also tried a new tool which was the expand object tool which made mt zig zag look better. Some skills I would want to gain is to get better at layering and to use a lot more tools. I have tried to get better at layers, but I often get lost trying to figure it out. As far as the digital perspectives go on comics, I think it is much easier for people to have a more of a creative outlet because not many people can draw and make it look nice but when comics on illustrator you can use your tech side which has really helped me because I struggled a lot with creativity. Using the tools in illustrator made me use my creativity outlet a lot more because it was something I could learn and get used to and some skills I can use for other things in the future. I designed my comic to be viewed it going down because I wanted it to be in stages and that is why you scroll downwards. I put a lot of time and effort into this comic and I know It is definitely not the best, but I have never been creative and have never been good with my computer, so I hope it isn’t the worst you’ve seen but I hope you have seen the meaningful message behind it that comes from my heart.
